I want to write a love song that’s not cheesy, for someone to break your heart who was like your best friend. Taylor Swift is really good at doing that, and I just need some advice.

Well for me when i write songs i need to have an inspiration. I normally listen to a song that really inspires me and that i love. Right now the song that does that for me is beauty in the breakdown by The Scene Aesthetic, since listening to this song (started listening to it yesterday) i've written two songs. For you it might be Taylor Swift. Just write down what you're feeling and turn it into a poem and gradually turn it into a song. That's how i wrote my first song and it worked out really well. If you write from the heart then it shouldn't be cheesy. Writing songs to perfection definitely isn't easy.. it takes time and a lot of practice so get going(: good luck ! xx
Well, for one thing you have to start writing. Keep a journal of the thoughts that come. If the feelings are true, they don't come off cheesy.
