After 2 minutes on the treadmill, johns heart rate is 82. After 3 minutes, the heart rate is 86. Find the equation and the heart rate after 10 minutes.
Any ideas?

the last answer is technicaly correct… although it has not a direct or clear answer for someone who's asking that… so, the answer is 118 beats per min of heart rate…
but it is only correct if what you are calculating is for math learning or practicing (and still being incorrect, because are needed at least 3 points to define as reliable a regression.. and 3 still being too low… for research) because heart rate will "get" to an asymptote. It's that on the description, john is exercising with certain rythm or keeping a speed, so he's heart will get to a point in wich it does not need to beat faster to get the enough oxygen to his body…
for that answere to be true, it would be needed for john to be accelerating the speed/velocity constantly or increasing the strenght on use constantly by those 10 minuts….

If you assume a direct correlation between pulse rate and treadmill time:
y=mx+b
y=4x+74
