How do you determine what your heart is saying from what your head is saying (and vice versa)? How do you know which one to follow?

this question makes my head hurt.
Head represents purely rational thought based on objective fact
When our Heart gets involves the tainting of facts with feelings. Usually we feel a certain way about what we are considering and adjust the facts to agree with it.
All of the power positive and negative is from the heart – what chance does a thin column of facts have against the passions of the heart.
Fact is, there isn't much logic in emotion. Maybe you should ask someone not involved to give you their opinion, as maybe you can give them the particulars. While we hear the phrase "follow your heart", it isn't always the right thing to do. Emotion certainly feels good, but it could damage your life. Your mind is full of logic but can be disguised by the heart. Good luck:)
I have spent the last 7 years learning how to do just this. I'm a little excited you ask. But let me be up front with you, it is not easy. I spent the first 50 years of my life letting my thoughts dictate my feelings, when the truth is it should be the other way around. All I can say it's like anything it takes practice. If your not sure trying closing your eyes, turn off everything you are thinking about and focus in on your heart. Our minds well tell us anything we want but our hearts won't. With time it will become like breathing. I wished more people would ask that same question. With all my heart I do wish you the best.
You know the difference because one is rational and the other is irrational. As for which one to follow, that is up to you.
You follow your heart when you know the outcome is going to be all good.
You follow your head when you have doubt or something just is not going to have a good out come, even though you want it to.
your head is on your shoulders it makes decisions your heart the mental one is also there what you have is a dilemma .
weigh up the for's and against then decide
Your heart is in your chest, your head is that lump 3 feet above your *** and you follow your feet.
