Hi,
A woman recently published a book chronicling her journey since heart transplantation. That was over 17yrs ago. Her heart was only supposed to last 10yrs, tops. Here it is:
Organ rejection meds have come a long way since this person's journey began. In effect, that will prevent problems before they occur. I've never worked in this area. I believe the prognosis is much better today. Good Luck to you both.
there is always a risk of infection, rejection but he could also get another heart. he needs to eat healthy, follow dr orders and take care of himself, no drugs, no drinks no cigs….
His prognosis sounds very good if there was no rejection. He can live on for many years if he leads a healthy lifestyle.
30-40 more years.
he could live for many years. that's good
