Hi what are the causes of heart murmurs to suddenly appear in a three year old child if she wasn’t born with it?

She may have been born with it at not noticed. My daughter had open heart surgery at age 21 months and nobody caught it and she was born with it. I knew something was not right and in doctor office nothing even when they found it nothing was detected i just hapen to get our family doctor back that had been out sick with cancer and even he did not hear a murmer and did an x-ray for me to make sure since I have 3 kids he all delivered and said if I feel something is wrong he would order an x-ray to make sure and sure enough she had a heart condition. I had been fighting for 21 months and nothing done He saved her life. When Cardiologist did echo and than the catherization for the surgen she had one month left before her heart would have shut down.So your child may have had it at birth but not diagnosed. My cousin just was discovered to have heart problem and he is 33 years old and had it since birth but not diagnosed.
usually in children the murmurs are flow or functional murmurs, this is because there are turbulence in the blood flow, causing gushes or murmurs as they flow through the blood vessels, they are benign. and they are usually more noticeable when the child has a fever because they are in a hyperdynamic circulation.
that is unless they have a defective valve or a small hole in the heart that may predispose the child to have infective endocarditis- an infection of the heart valve causing the formation of a new murmur
