Sometimes, my heart will skip a beat (and yes I have been told I have a heart murmur but it is nothing serious) and I will automatically cough. I have had stress tests in the past, EKG’s, etc and even a heart cath and my arteries seem to be fine. Could it be just plain ole simple stress? Should I cut back on caffiene?

i get the same feeling i have svt. It can be caused by stress and caffiene, so cut back.
More than likely what you're describing is simply an ectopic beat – one extra heart beat. What you feel is actually the beat after this early beat, due to the heart being slightly 'overfilled' this commonly causes the need to cough! It can be related to stress caffeine or simply be a normal variant not related to anything specific.
