For me the biggest variable is the outside temperature. After a 3 mile run today, my heart rate was 177 per min. That was alarmingly more than the usual 130-140. It was pretty hot today, and I did run it nearly a minute faster than my usual.
When does the rate get to the point your body starts burning muscle instead of fat?
