High blood pressure leads to heart problems. Maybe all 3 associated with being overweight? Every time my brother (Type 2 diabetic) has increased blood sugar level, he has heart attack!! DM over time takes it's toll on blood vessels affecting circulation, leading to BP problems and/or cardiac problems....and kidney problems....which enhances high BP problems...and so goes the circle when each affects each. Now, without diabetes in the picture, high BP (not controlled) can cause heart problems and kidney dysfunction. There may well be a higher incidence of DM with hypertension....I would guess if this were true then the pancreas was affected by the hypertention as the heart and kidneys are affected.
